The ‘Mooier Nel’ by Brewer Jopen
The best beer (6,5%) in the Netherlands in 2015 and made with American hops. This ‘Beautiful Nel’ beer creates bitterness with lots of fruity tones. This beer is named after the water between Haarlem and Spaarndam and outside of Netherlands its called ‘Jopen North Sea IPA’
Zatte van Brouwerij ’t IJ
The ‘Zatte’ (the Drunk one’) is a triple. It is a thick golden beer (8%) with an aroma of fresh fruit and here and there a touch of grain. The taste is slightly sweet and ends in a nice dry finish.
Natte by Brouwerij ’t IJ
‘De Natte’ (meaning ‘The Wet’) is a classic and famous beer (6,5%) of this brewery. It’s a so-called double, a Belgian sort of soft dark beers. The using of dark malt gives ‘De Natte’ a reddish brown colour. This malt also ensures the smooth roasted flavour. After the ‘Zatte’, this is the oldest beer from Brouwerij ‘t IJ. Natte is classed as a ‘dubbel’, a Belgian category of smooth, dark beers. Because we partly use dark malt, Natte has a reddish-brown colour and a smooth, roasted flavour with earthy tones of brown sugar, nuts and plums. Completed with slightly bitter hops, this is a nicely balanced beer and one of the brewery’s classics.
Bootjes bier van Seef
Quite spicy ‘sailor man’ beer (7%) with ginger and coriander from the Antwerp brewery Seef ‘. It pairs well with salmon and other fish dishes.
Abt 12 van St. Bernardus
The absolute top beer in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers and also the beer with the highest alcohol (10,5%) content. The showpiece of the brewery is brewed according to the original recipe from 1946 and is easily drunk because of its soft full-bodied flavour.
Prior 8 van St. Bernardus
